Overview

In this interactive 2-hour, virtual workshop, participants will define mathematical fluency as the ability for students to compute flexibly, accurately, and efficiently, while addressing common misconceptions and exploring the research behind its value. Participants will engage with examples and strategies to experience fluency-building activities firsthand and investigate existing classroom opportunities. This workshop includes the opportunity to engage in guided planing to incorporate fluency activities into an upcoming lesson or activity.

  • Participants will need a computer with access to Zoom, a camera, a microphone, and stable Internet connectivity
