Focus Area: Student-Centered Literacy
Attendees:

Instructional Coaches, Teachers

Phase: Targeted Support

Available July 2024

Overview

Integrating reading and writing across multiple subject areas enhances student understanding of complex concepts and fosters critical thinking skills. This approach helps students practice language skills in meaningful contexts, leading to improved proficiency and fostering interdisciplinary connections. In this workshop, participants will gain insights and plan to enhance an upcoming lesson by incorporating reading and writing.

Outcome

I plan high-quality 3-8 learning experiences that continue to develop students’ ability to elicit meaning from oral and written language by consistently providing all students access to the necessary exposure and practice with language domains covering grade-level content.
