Research has shown that one effective way to fill instructional gaps, while also increasing achievement, is to provide students with consistent exposure and practice with grade level content through the reading of grade level text.
During this 2-hour workshop, classroom teachers and instructional staff of all subject areas in grades 3-12 will develop an understanding of why access to grade level text must be part of developing readers’ instructional program and explore strategies to support them with creating entry points into grade level text for their diverse learners.
I focus on the grade level expectation when planning differentiated learning experiences that target students strengths and needs.
