One of the foundations of teaching practice is developing a consistent learning structure. Structures can build predictability that ensures students feel safe and is a springboard towards more rigorous learning moments and tasks. In this 2 hour virtual workshop, we will build understanding around what a learning structure is, and how routines and procedures create the conditions for student ownership. We will explore examples using classroom footage to unpack successes and challenges of learning structure design.
This learning experience is optimized for classroom teachers and para-educators. It can be modified for instructional leaders to support them to bring the content to their teachers.
I develop routines and procedures that structure an efficient, student-led classroom.
