Research shows that involving families in their children’s education is paramount to student success. When families are meaningfully and continuously engaged in their children’s learning and development, it has a positive impact on their child’s health, academic, and well-being outcomes. As educators, the classroom environment has countless factors that can either support, or detract, from learning. The connections we make between that learning and student’s families is key in establishing for students a sense of belonging and value to what they do in school. In this 2 hour virtual workshop, we will define what makes effective connection ‘points’ with educators, and how to make them consistent and sustainable, beyond just the ‘open house’.
This session is optimized for classroom teachers, para-educators, and instructional coaches.
