We, at BetterLesson, believe that increasing a student’s awareness of self results in their ability to prioritize goals, remain accountable, and exercise discipline. Self-awareness and self-management are crucial skills for any young learner to develop in order to understand the impact of emotions. When teachers have a strong understanding of these competencies they’re better equipped to model and support these skills in their classroom community. This virtual workshop focuses on two of the five competencies that make up CASEL’s model of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). Educators will become familiar with both of these competencies by reflecting on their own practice, exploring strategies, and building a plan that holds them accountable to evaluating their practice in order to influence change.
This session is designed for teachers beginning their journey in SEL or those that are looking to take their understanding to the next level are recommended to take this virtual experience.
I integrate strategies that help students build healthy self-management and self-awareness habits.
