Overview

In this in-person workshop participants will explore CASEL’s 5 competencies for developing social-emotional intelligence so that educators are present and responsive to the academic and SEL outcomes, for all learners. To accomplish this participants will analyze each of the competencies and explore strategies associated with each competency  in order to develop a plan that highlights SEL in daily practice. 

Audience

This product is designed for teachers that are new or developing their understanding of social-emotional learning and are in need of an introduction to the 5 competencies in order to support their learners.

Learning Experience

This design workshop explains what SEL is, why it’s important, and provides data to demonstrate the effectiveness of including SEL in educational practices (awareness) while identifying ways to take steps in the classroom to integrate these practices into our systems to further learn about ourselves as educators and our students (action) in order to support them best.
