To ensure that teachers are levering and maximizing the use of discourse when delivering high-quality mathematics instruction, instructional leaders must have sufficient understanding. For students to produce quality explanations, teachers must create the conditions that solicit student thinking. This 2-hour virtual workshop is designed to equip leaders to support teacher practice by defining the critical attributes of meaningful discourse, exploring elements that impact the quality of mathematical discourse and the structures that promote it, and building a plan for implementation.
I use structures, tools, and communication to support teachers to translate feedback into actionable next steps.
