One of the ways Open Up Resources Math 6-8 is designed to be accessible to all students is through embedded instructional routines that support language and mathematical thinking for all students. These routines are designed to become familiar structures in lessons so that students can focus on learning and collaborating with their peers. As part of the virtual launch series, this workshop gives participants an opportunity to learn about these routines and how they can be introduced into their own context.
This workshop can follow up the first three virtual workshops in the launch series for those just getting started with the curriculum. In this series, participants will gain awareness of the structure and goals of the curriculum and develop an understanding of how it is designed for problem-based learning and its implications on their instructional practice.
