Planning to facilitate problem-based activities involves considering how to maintain the cognitive demand of a task while helping students understand what to do, not how to do it. The Launch-Work Time-Synthesis structure of activities provides students with opportunities for discourse, grappling, and using a range of problem-solving strategies that help them understand. In this 2-hour virtual workshop, participants will choose an upcoming activity to collaboratively plan in depth.
