A common challenge when teaching with a problem-based curriculum is managing the pacing of a lesson while ensuring students are making connections for themselves. Planning strategically at the lesson level by focusing on the purpose of each activity allows teachers to identify both the goals and the limits of the lesson, which supports the student-centeredness and pacing of instruction. In this 2-hour virtual workshop, participants will collaboratively plan an upcoming lesson by focusing on how activities are sequenced to lead students to achieve the learning goal.
