Overview

Problem-Based instruction is driven by student ideas and strategies that arise when they work on rich mathematical tasks. Teachers create the conditions to solicit these ideas and intentionally use them as part of learning for the whole class. As part of the virtual launch series, this workshop focuses on how activities are structured and how the embedded 5 Practices guidance provides a framework for organizing activities for student discussion and learning.

This workshop can follow up the first three virtual workshops in the launch series for those just getting started with the curriculum. In this series, participants will gain awareness of the structure and goals of the curriculum and develop an understanding of how it is designed for problem-based learning and its implications on their instructional practice.
