Problem-based mathematics instruction shifts both teachers’ and students’ roles in learning. When using a problem-based curriculum, teachers must understand those shifts and the key characteristics of how the curriculum makes this learning possible. In this 2-hour virtual introduction, teachers will experience problem-based learning from the teacher and student perspective in order to learn about these key characteristics.
This is the first workshop of a 3-5 session virtual workshop series designed for those just getting started with the curriculum. In this series, participants will gain awareness of the structure and goals of the curriculum and develop an understanding of how it is designed for problem-based learning and its implications on their instructional practice.
